How to Stop Vape Spitback
Sky VapesShare
Vape spitback is hot liquid popping up the mouthpiece. It happens when the coil is flooded: too much liquid is sitting on the wire, so a puff throws droplets instead of vapour. It is unpleasant and it wastes liquid, and it is usually fixed without a new device.
Stop the pop
If it still spits on a new pod, the liquid may be too thin for that airflow, or the pod is damaged. Replace the pod from Vaporesso pods or OXVA pods, and fill from nic salts with the air gap left in.
- Empty a little liquid out if the pod is filled to the cap.
- Wipe the mouthpiece and the battery contacts.
- Take a few harder pulls without holding a fire button, if the kit has one, so the flooded wick clears. On a draw-activated kit, a sharp pull onto a tissue does the same job.
- Close the airflow slightly. A very open airflow on thin 50/50 salt pulls liquid through.
- If the kit has a wattage screen, move up only a small step. A coil that is too cool can gurgle. A coil that is far too hot will burn.
