PG and VG Ratio Explained

Every e-liquid is a mix of PG and VG. PG VG ratio is the split. A 50/50 bottle is half of each. A 70/30 shortfill is mostly VG. That one number decides whether the liquid will work in your coil.

PG is the thinner part. It carries flavour and gives a stronger throat feel. VG is thicker and makes more vapour. More VG means a slower soak in a small coil.

Match the ratio to the kit

If a pod tastes dry and the liquid is thick and slow to drip, the VG is too high for that coil. Move back to a 50/50 salt rather than turning the wattage up.

• 50/50 nic salt: pod kits and prefilled-style MTL coils. Shop nic salts.
• 70/30 or 80/20 shortfill: sub-ohm tanks. Shop e-liquids.
• A 50/50 shortfill, if you use one, can go in a pod only when the nicotine level is suitable for that coil. Read the bottle. Do not assume it is a 20mg salt.
