Vape Coil Ohm Guide
Sky VapesShare
The number on a pod, 0.8 ohm or 1.2 ohm, is the coil resistance. A higher ohm uses less power, makes a tighter draw, and suits nic salts. A lower ohm uses more power, makes more vapour, and drinks liquid faster.
A simple match
Read the pod name before you buy a spare. An XROS pod does not fit an OXVA battery. Browse Vaporesso coils, SMOK coils and Geekvape coils only when the pack names your tank or pod.
If a new coil tastes burnt, it was not primed. Fill it and wait. The ohm printed on the side will not fix a dry wick.
- 1.0 to 1.2 ohm: tight MTL, 10mg or 20mg nic salt, low wattage.
- 0.8 ohm: the everyday MTL pod. Still a nic salt pod for most people.
- 0.6 ohm: a looser RDL draw. Step the nicotine down. 20mg is often too strong here.
- Below 0.5 ohm: sub-ohm. Use a shortfill, not a 20mg salt.
